An Ode to my Mini Plunger

(based on a true story)

My toilet is old
As old as the hills
Well…it’s older than it should be
That’s true!

But it’s got a huge tank
And with the right SPANK
It’ll swallow big loads of poo.

So it’s an average day
Hand in hand, they say
My plunger & me working hard

But hark! What is that?
A tear?
A crack?
O please don’t let it be true.

I watch as the water starts to flirt with the rim
My plunger – he’s trying his best
But the crack gets wider, more bubbles leak thru
The water is starting to crest!

As I vigorously push my dear friend to his end
I plead & I shout OH PLEASE!
We’ve been thru so much
I’m asking just this once
I need just ONE MORE SQUEEZE!

SLUUUUUURrrrrrrrrp!

In awe I behold
That water so bold
Start to whirl down its designated tube

What relief I feel is halted & stilled
As I realize the sacrifice due

That big ole crack was all the way around
He was practically doubled over himself

God Bless You Dear Plunger!
It isn’t a wonder
That your time has come to an end
Endless hours we’ve spent
Keeping filth hell bent
In its right and proper place

Your replacement is tall
It’s even bright blue
But my heart will always remember you.

Plunge on, little dude!
